Hydroseeding uses enough mulch to provide moisture retention and erosion control. Hydromulch is a soil stabilizer that is hydraulically applied with a tackifier and a wood fiber/recycled paper mix.
The mulch is green to be aesthetically pleasing and to help judge the thickness of the mulch. Hydroseeding is used for temporary soil stabilization, with or without seed, or for erosion control to establish permanent vegetation. It is and excellent product to use for stockpile protection as well.
